JAY ALMOST STAYS

"My mind began to play tricks on me as I thought about the good that came from working for Santi." (Pg 189)

WORKING FOR SANTI

"I liked running the club and the social stature that came with it, don't get me wrong. I have my brother in my life once again, and it felt good knowing we were on the path of owning our own nightclub at some point in the future." (Pg 189)

QUITTING

"Best-case scenario, I call the Ramos brothers, tell them everything, they believe me, and they get Santi off our backs while also saving themselves from getting wrapped up in his shady business." (Pg 189)

We see that just as Jay finds a way out of Santi's grasp, he's fixated on the "good" that came from working for him. It's a similar feeling to when we're about to cross the finish line, but feel the greatest urge to give up or to choose what's comfortable.

If you were in Jay's position, would you stay or leave?
