JAY'S LIFESTYLE CHANGES
"People walked up from the street, already buzzing and introducing themselves to me. Skylar and Braden greeted most of them by first name, attaching inside jokes to the various faces that presented themselves." (Pg 104)
"Something I couldn't wrap my head around was how this life was even real--to have a job that consisted of me inviting attractive people to clubs... Only to sleep in the next day and end up at a pool party in the hills. It felt surreal." (Pg 104)
Jay is reaching celebrity status.
JAY'S STATE OF MIND CHANGES
"I could feel the alcohol run its course as I became even looser, and I didn't mind the thought of letting go a bit more. I was officially in good company." (Pg 107)
"She pulled me toward the house again, and this time I let her. It's as if I was one with fate, letting it pull me in any direction it pleased. Everything around me was all molding together as one lively and colorful ambiance. Jay is becoming desensitized to letting bodily pleasures and physical infatuation guide him. We find that he is becoming comfortable with using "intoxication" as a coping mechanism.
